Let’s Push Down Unemployment rate

Hi Friends, I’m concerned about the rate of unemployment and how it affects lots of people. Needless to say, this COVID-19 era is not helping issues at all. Hopefully, with rollouts of vaccines things will get back to near normal, to say the least.

Unfortunately, there are lots of graduates with no jobs especially in African countries and precisely in Nigeria. However, in this kind of cases I would say try LinkedIn. In fact, I’m encouraging everyone to have a LinkedIn account. If you are job hunting you should be spending more time on LinkedIn not Facebook or Twitter.

I will like to urge any unemployed graduate to make good use of Linkedin. There are a lot of jobs out there. Ask questions, search for jobs, tag recruiters, follow companies and influential people. Go for it. Interested people will share your posts too.

If you have been doing the same thing for a long time and it isn’t working seek advice. For instance, if you have been using same CV for different job applications, get your CV reviewed by someone else or a professional. You can revamp your CV to a resume, that could be the trick. Just do something different this time for a possibly different outcome.

There is no better way to say that things are hard already. It is mind blowing to see how people are struggling despite having to make ends. Most people are basically living from hand to mouth while many others cannot avoid good food on regular basics for their family. People with academic qualifications are equally affected. Ideally, one would think that higher education implies automatic job post studies but it isn’t the case. In certain health related jobs, there are always jobs but this is not so for majority of disciplines.

I think it’s about time everyone learnt a skill or trade alongside their regular job. This can help close some gaps. Most times the government are been blamed. Nonetheless, we can take the bull by the horn for a better and ambitious nation.

It can be saddening to see families suffer including poor kids. For instance, in cases where in a family the man hawks or do menial jobs to fend for his wife and children. It might be as a result of an expected event that changed their that situation, yet, that is their reality.

Life shouldn’t be this hard for most of us. Keep taking actions till you find a job and lead a live of purpose. l know you might have come across “PUSH”. PUSH stands for

P – Pray

U – Until

S – Something

H – Happens

In this context, it will be nice you continue to PUSH but I will be adding Persist to the P. So, persist (i.e. with whatever job searching steps you are taking) till something happens. I clearly used adding to the P and have not replaced it for good reasons.

In addition, do not limit yourself to a particular city or even country. In this digital era, people shouldn’t be suffering like that. Poverty should be eradicated. I want everyone (male snd female alike) to have an independent mindset. Besides, that will make one more relevant to their partner, if applicable. I suppose Chimamanda Adichie, the lead for Feminist will like those lines😊

Please friends let’s push down unemployment rate by searching for job drastically, working, saving, and investing. These will definitely pave way for a better future for all.
